les sauvages is all about getting great chefs in this city and beyond to come together and cook great food. it will be a co-op to allow chefs who are not tied to a formal kitchen currently, rising star cooks who want to show people their own style and chefs that are from out of town to visit and cook. it will be a forum to share ideas, techniques and to enjoy food and beverage. this began as an idea for one dinner but soon after, realizing the amount of very talented chefs in houston that are currently not in a kitchen, we knew we had something bigger. this blog will have all the info, updates, pictures from events, behind the scenes, the market, maybe a drink here and there. it will be about chefs who still consider themselves cooks at heart, a place where they are free to cook whatever they want. they will be les sauvages!

les sauvagesles sauvages ~ from french; translates as: "the wild ones". les sauvages will be a summer pop up dinner series hosted by Justin Basye and will feature chefs from houston, and perhaps beyond, who are out of work, in between positions or waiting for their restaurants to open. our goal will be to create a forum for all these great chefs to do what they love to do most, craft soulful food for an audience that understands where they are coming from, a chance for these chefs to cook without boundaries. this is les sauvages!
